A Filipino nurse who is based in the UAE has been selected as a finalist for the coveted Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award 2025, worth a possible Dh900,000. This resident of Dubai has been praised for her remarkable kindness and dedication to community health and hopes to use the award amount to treat children with cancer—particularly those belonging to poor families.

A known tireless volunteer, the finalist has touched the lives of hundreds of people through medical missions, educational programs, and psychological support activities in both the UAE and her native Philippines. Her is a testament to selflessness and determination, going about her full-time job while leaving no stone unturned in providing a better life for children, particularly children with life-threatening diseases.

She has already organized cancer awareness campaigns and worked with local hospitals to provide early screening and financial support to children suffering from cancer. Her aim, if she receives the award, is to establish a sustainable support system that provides not only access to treatment but also emotional support and education to affected families.

The Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award recognizes unsung healthcare heroes who exceed their professional call of duty. The 2025 edition saw thousands of nominations from more than 50 nations. This Filipino nurse’s poignant tale of love, commitment, and advocacy has touched judges and audiences alike—demonstrating healing often starts with a heart that gives.
