A Kerala expatriate from India is now an instant millionaire after claiming $1 million in the 500th Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw, much to the happiness of his family after more than 15 years of eager involvement. The longtime Dubai resident and father of two now joins a special club of winners whose dreams have come true thanks to the legendary promotion.

The lucky winner is the 249th Indian national to claim the grand prize since the DDF Millennium Millionaire campaign began in 1999 — a testament to the overwhelming support and participation of the Indian community in Dubai’s popular lottery initiative.

Dubai Duty Free has given life-altering prizes to contestants worldwide over the years, but Indians have dominated the list of winners. The expat confirmed that he had been buying tickets for close to a decade and a half, always hoping that one day his luck would change for the better.

His tale not only captures the frenzy surrounding the DDF draw, but also echoes the determination of regular expats pursuing their aspirations in the UAE. The 500th issue is a milestone in the campaign’s history — one made all the more special with yet another Indian winner at its heart.
