In a historic move, Disney has announced its first-ever theme park in the Middle East, set to open on Abu Dhabi’s vibrant Yas Island. The highly anticipated project marks Disney’s first new theme park in 15 years, symbolizing its strategic expansion into the fast-growing entertainment market of the UAE.
The Abu Dhabi park will include iconic Disney franchises such as Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and beloved original characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Immersive lands, state-of-the-art attractions, and live shows, the park is set to deliver an unparalleled magical experience fitted for regional and international visitors.
The partnership is being created in association with Miral, the master developer of Yas Island, which is already home to internationally acclaimed attractions such as Ferrari World and Warner Bros. World. The addition of Disney will further solidify Yas Island as a world-class family destination.
The authorities say the park fits the UAE’s economic diversification and tourism leadership vision. With the construction soon to commence, guests can look forward to the gates opening by the end of the decade, marking a new chapter in entertainment in the area.
