The chaos came after a tense game concluded in dramatic fashion, triggering altercations among opposing fans. Video clips making the rounds online depict fans hurling objects, breaking property, and engaging in fistfights, leading to a swift investigation by the police.
Dubai Police reaffirmed that violence and disorder have no place in sports and warned that offending individuals in the future will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. “We are determined to see sports events kept safe for all spectators,” an official communication said, appealing to fans to honor the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship.
The UAE Football Association has also commented, deploring the violence and promising support for increased crowd control measures. Future games between rival teams can expect greater police presence and stricter stadium regulations to avert further disturbances and uphold the integrity of the game.
