India-Pakistan Conflict Rises: Strikes More Intense Than 2019

Indian-Pakistani tensions have erupted in a fresh wave of military tensions following the lethal Pahalgam terror strike. India carried out targeted precision strikes at several locations inside Pakistan, which left Islamabad issuing a warning of severe reprisal. This has created shockwaves in diplomatic circles and world markets.

Defense commentators observe that the magnitude and intensity of the most recent attacks are greater than those of the 2019 Balakot mission, reflecting hardening of position by New Delhi. The Indian government described the action as “measured but decisive,” with Pakistan denouncing it as “unprovoked aggression,” stoking fears of further escalation.

Air traffic has been disrupted throughout the subcontinent with almost 600 flights cancelled and several border areas put on high alert. Civil defense measures and military reinforcements have been deployed, indicating that both countries are readying themselves for the likelihood of prolonged conflict.

Global leaders, including US, Chinese, and UN officials, have demanded de-escalation and dialogue immediately. Both countries having nuclear capabilities, the world is watching anxiously, calling for restraint and renewed diplomacy to prevent a regional crisis.
