With millions set to undertake the Hajj spiritual pilgrimage, Saudi Arabia has stepped up preparations, rolling out an elaborate logistical and medical infrastructure to guarantee the comfort and safety of pilgrims. Major upgrades include 400 special buses, a 200-bed hospital, and thousands of newly installed trees in the holy city.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah also confirmed the deployment of 400 air-conditioned buses, which will be used on main pilgrim roads, reducing congestion and improving mobility. At the same time, an equipped 200-bed hospital and emergency departments have been created to guarantee 24/7 care and critical response services.
To enhance environmental comfort, authorities have planted 10,000 trees and constructed 36,000 square meters of pedestrian walkways, providing shade and walkways to facilitate the journey between ritual areas. The initiative is an indication of the Kingdom’s emphasis on sustainability, security, and advanced infrastructure amid one of the world’s largest religious events.
