The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has launched the new ‘Bus Pooling’ service officially, with the aim of providing residents with a smart, flexible, and affordable means of commuting around the city. This new service enables passengers who are traveling on a similar route to share a trip in sleek, air-conditioned buses—making urban travel convenient, affordable, and environmentally friendly.
Aimed at alleviating traffic and lowering the carbon intensity of the city, the service is driven by intelligent technology supporting real-time reservations, route planning, and punctual pick-ups via a special mobile app. Commuting to work, school, or entertainment sites, travelers can now count on a safe, convenient, and affordable substitute for private vehicles and taxis.
The RTA emphasized that the service has been introduced to bridge the gap between public and private transport options, especially in areas with limited Metro or regular bus access. By encouraging ride-sharing, the initiative also supports Dubai’s broader environmental and smart city goals.
Residents have received the launch warmly, referring to it as a “game-changer” for commuters making a daily trip. Due to high anticipated demand, the RTA will increase route lengths and service frequency in a few months to accommodate heightened interest and enhance city connectivity.
