Kuwaiti Man Accused of Killing Mother in Drug Row, Trial Heats Up

A sensational murder trial has shaken Kuwait as a 28-year-old man stood trial for stabbing his mother to death and seriously injuring his brother in a vicious domestic violence attack. The accused allegedly informed investigators that his mother’s refusal to advance him money for drugs “driven him mad” leading to the vicious assault.

Prosecutors say the defendant went into a fury when his mother refused to cover his drug purchase. He allegedly retrieved a knife and went on a wild attack, killing her instantly and stabbing his brother when he attempted to intervene. The brother survived and testified against the man, providing key information for his arrest.

Before the judge, the defendant demonstrated minimal remorse, restating that his mother’s rejection led to a psychological collapse. Legal analysts explain that the case points to the sinister nexus of drug addiction, mental instability, and domestic abuse—a rising issue in most societies contending with substance dependency.

The trial goes on, with the public interest concentrated on the verdict and sentencing. Governments have also urged new emphasis on drug rehabilitation and mental health support mechanisms to avoid such atrocities in the future. The case has caused national uproar and demands for tougher drug legislation and protection of families.
