Sharjah Police Ramp Up Summer Road Safety Checks With Rising Temperatures

The Sharjah Police have intensified summer road safety checks throughout the emirate as temperatures soar. The drive aims at avoiding vehicle-related accidents as temperatures reach new heights. The campaign seeks to ensure vehicles’ preparedness against such severe heat, with officials carrying out comprehensive inspections of tires, brakes, cooling, and the general condition of the vehicles in a bid to minimize breakdown and accident risks.

Authorities are calling on all motorists to maintain their vehicles regularly, especially during the hot summer months. Not properly servicing vehicles, they say, will lead to tire blowout, engine breakdown, and even life-threatening road accidents. Highway and busy urban street road safety patrols have also been augmented to monitor compliance.

Police authorities have also initiated a companion drive campaign, taking to social media and outdoor banners to educate drivers on summer-related road risks. Motorists are being cautioned to inspect tire pressures, coolant levels, and aircon systems before heading out, particularly for long trips.

The Sharjah Police scheme is a part of an overall UAE-wide campaign to make the roads safer and minimize casualties during summer, when vehicle stress levels are at their maximum. As temperatures look set to reach over 45°C in the coming weeks, drivers are being urged to be more careful and prioritize safety at the top of their travel agenda.
