In a decisive move to uphold academic integrity, a Kuwaiti court has sentenced a teacher and two education officials to prison for their involvement in leaking examination papers on social media. The ruling marks a significant step in the country’s efforts to curb cheating and safeguard the education system.

Authorities uncovered a network responsible for distributing high school exam content online, sparking outrage among students, parents, and educational institutions. Investigations revealed that the accused exploited their positions to access and leak confidential materials.

The court emphasised the seriousness of the authorities’ and teacher’s acts and sentenced them to various prison terms. Officials stated that such crimes not only undermine the value of education but also shake public trust in the system.

The Ministry of Education has since reinforced its security protocols and vowed to impose zero tolerance on academic misconduct. The case sends a strong message that cheating at any level will be met with firm legal consequences.
