Bridges and tunnels on Dubai’s road system reduce travel times

A revolutionary infrastructure project that will drastically cut travel times from 20 minutes to only 6 minutes in strategic parts of the city has been revealed by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). In order to improve mobility and reduce traffic, the project includes a system of new bridges, tunnels, and bike lanes.

The upgrade is a major component of a larger master plan to redevelop Jumeirah, Al Safa, and Al Wasl Streets. These vital corridors will benefit from multi-level interchanges, smart traffic systems, and improved pedestrian walkways to ensure smooth and safer commuting for residents and visitors alike.

The building of six new bridges, each capable of carrying up to 20,000 cars per hour, and multiple tunnels that will permit continuous traffic flow are among the salient characteristics. Dubai’s drive for environmentally friendly and sustainable modes of transport is reflected in the installation of bike lanes.

It is anticipated that the project will greatly increase connectivity, lower emissions, and enhance local residents’ quality of life. In order to minimise disturbance and accomplish long-term urban transportation objectives, the RTA intends to finish the project in stages.
