WhatsApp Ends Support for Older iPhones Starting June 1, 2025

WhatsApp will officially stop working on specific iPhone models beginning June 1, 2025, as the app rolls off support for obsolete iOS versions. The change means users with older iPhones will lose access to the app unless they update their device or operating system.

Specifically, iPhones running iOS 12 or earlier will no longer be compatible with future WhatsApp updates. The move aligns with WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to improve security and performance by focusing support on newer technologies.

Users impacted by the update are advised to install the most recent iOS version for their phone, backup their chats, and switch to a newer device. They run the risk of losing their features and messaging if they don’t take these actions.

The majority of WhatsApp’s users worldwide will continue to enjoy a seamless, safe experience thanks to this update, which is a part of the messaging app’s routine device support evaluations.
