The Pakistan Embassy in the UAE has issued a stern public notice urging all Pakistani citizens to use social media and online platforms responsibly. The embassy highlighted that misuse of digital channels can result in significant legal consequences, including hefty fines and possible imprisonment under UAE’s cybercrime laws.

This advisory comes amid rising cases where individuals have faced penalties for sharing misleading, defamatory, or culturally insensitive content. The embassy reminded its nationals that freedom of expression comes with responsibility and that the laws in the UAE are strict when it comes to online behavior.

Citizens are particularly warned against spreading fake news, posting unauthorized images or videos of others, or engaging in hate speech and personal attacks. Even seemingly harmless jokes or comments can lead to serious consequences under UAE regulations.

The embassy encouraged all Pakistanis living and working in the UAE to stay informed about local laws and think carefully before posting anything online. Responsible digital conduct not only ensures individual safety but also protects the image of the Pakistani community abroad.
