Cooler Winds and Dusty Skies Ahead: UAE Prepares for Weather Change

The UAE will have colder temperatures, blowing dust, patchy fog, and stormy seas this week, according to the National Centre of Meteorology. Residents in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah are cautioned to expect lower visibility and a considerable drop in midday heat.

According to the NCM, strong northwesterly winds will stir up sand and dust in exposed areas, particularly over inland and coastal regions. These conditions may affect drivers and outdoor workers, prompting officials to urge caution and reduce travel when visibility is low.

Mariners have also been warned of stormy seas, with waves predicted to reach dangerous heights in the Arabian Gulf. Fishing trips and beach visits may be hampered, particularly within the next 48 hours when weather instability is at its highest.

The temperature drop offers a temporary reprieve from the sweltering early-summer heat. However, health experts advise residents to wear masks or limit outdoor activities during dusty spells, as air quality is likely to deteriorate during this transitional phase.
