Car Jumps Red Signal and Causes Fatal Crash in Abu Dhabi

A fatal incident at a popular junction in Abu Dhabi claimed lives and injured numerous others as a motorist drove through a red light, causing a high-impact crash. Abu Dhabi Police have released terrifying footage of the event, hoping that the graphic images will emphasise the hazards of reckless driving and red-light infractions.

The footage, which was published on the police’s social media platforms, shows a white sedan disobeying the signal and smashing into another vehicle at full speed, forcing both cars to spin out violently. According to reports, the incident occurred in the early morning at one of the capital’s busiest intersections. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but several occupants were pronounced dead or critically injured on site.

Authorities emphasised that red-light infractions are not only unlawful but frequently fatal, asking all drivers to obey traffic signals and drive properly. “What we witnessed was preventable,” an Abu Dhabi Police spokesperson said. “This wasn’t just a mistake—it was negligence that cost lives.”

In reaction to the event, Abu Dhabi Police are increasing road safety campaigns and surveillance at intersections with AI-powered traffic cameras. Violators caught jumping red lights face steep penalties, black points, and possible car confiscation. The message is clear: one moment of impatience can result in a lifetime of regret.
