Following the Iran strike, Etihad Airways reroutes flights during the GCC airspace lockdown

In response to airspace limitations enforced by a number of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, Etihad Airways has announced that flights will be rerouted across numerous itineraries. The move comes in the wake of Iran’s recent missile attack targeting a U.S. military base in Qatar, intensifying regional security concerns.

The Abu Dhabi-based carrier confirmed that several of its flights are now taking alternate paths to ensure passenger safety. The airline is coordinating closely with aviation authorities to monitor the dynamic airspace situation, and affected passengers are being notified through official communication channels.

The closure of Qatari, Kuwaiti, and Bahraini airspace has added pressure to Gulf air traffic, prompting not only Etihad but other regional and international airlines to revise schedules or cancel operations. Experts say the ripple effect could extend to Asia-Europe routes, further complicating the global aviation network.

Etihad has urged passengers with upcoming travel to check their flight status and remain flexible with plans. As regional tensions remain high, the airline emphasized its continued commitment to safety and operational transparency during this period of uncertainty.
