Sharjah Police have rolled out a new fleet of community patrol units designed to improve emergency response times and enhance public safety across the emirate. The initiative was officially launched this week, with a focus on proactive policing and quicker access for residents to report incidents.
The new patrols will be strategically deployed in key residential and commercial areas. Each unit is equipped with advanced communication tools and AI-assisted monitoring systems, enabling officers to respond swiftly to emergencies, traffic issues, and public disturbances.
In a video shared by authorities, the community patrols can be seen cruising through neighborhoods, engaging with residents, and using mobile apps to log reports in real time. Police officials emphasized that the program is also about building trust between law enforcement and the public through visibility and accessibility.
Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, stated that this initiative is part of a broader smart security strategy aimed at creating a safer and more connected society. Residents are encouraged to approach patrols directly or use the police hotline and mobile platforms to report any concerns.
