Saudi Arabia Permits Residents and Citizens of the GCC to Perform Umrah at Any Time

Saudi Arabia has announced that citizens and residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can now do Umrah at any time of the year, which is a significant milestone for religious pilgrims. This action is a component of the Kingdom’s larger plan to improve pilgrimage experiences for Muslims around the area and facilitate access to sacred locations.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah affirmed that there are no seasonal limitations on the application process for Umrah permits for citizens or residents of GCC countries, which include the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait. Digital platforms have been used to streamline the procedure in an effort to reduce delays and remove administrative obstacles.

This project is in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which places a strong emphasis on growing religious tourism, housing more pilgrims, and enhancing tourist services and infrastructure. It is anticipated that the ruling would lead to a significant increase in the number of pilgrims from the surrounding area who travel to Makkah all year long.

In order to guarantee a seamless and open journey for all worshippers, authorities have also advised applicants to make reservations for Umrah appointments and lodgings using the official Nusuk portal.
