With record-breaking attendance and sales during the much awaited Mango Festival, Khorfakkan, a seaside city in Sharjah, transformed into a delicious paradise. Dubbed “Mango Mania,” the event attracted more than 20,000 visitors, celebrating the summer fruit in vibrant fashion.
Held as part of Sharjah’s ongoing efforts to promote local agriculture and tourism, the festival featured over 100 varieties of mangoes from regional and international vendors. Enthusiasts and families alike flocked to the venue to indulge in mango tastings, cooking competitions, and cultural performances.
For participating farmers and companies, the three-day festival was a huge success, with organisers reporting sales of over Dh1 million. The festival’s vibrant ambience, distinctive displays, and hands-on activities, such as fresh juice stations and mango carving exhibitions, were highly acclaimed by attendees.
The attendance was praised by officials as a testament to the fruit’s rich cultural heritage and the UAE’s expanding interest in agritourism. With more vendors and anticipated foreign participation, plans are already in place to grow the festival the following year.
