Humanoid Robots Engage in Competition
Four teams of completely autonomous humanoid robots participated in China’s first-ever AI football match, which was set up in a 3-vs-3 format, at a historic event in Beijing. A major trial for the next World Humanoid Robot Games, the competition featured robots with motion control, visual sensors, and real-time decision-making that were unassisted by humans.

Stretcher Scenes, Tumbles, and Glitches
The bots frequently stumbled, clashed, and found it difficult to keep up despite their sophisticated engineering. It was the first time in a totally autonomous match that robots had to be stretchered off the field after collapsing twice. The fragility and quick development of robotic coordination were both brought to light by these dramatic situations.

Tsinghua Wins the Tech Battle
Following a fierce game, the THU Robotics team from Tsinghua University emerged victorious, defeating the Mountain Sea team from China Agricultural University 5–3. For navigation, ball detection, passing, and recovery, university-led algorithm development proved essential.
