Residents across the UAE should brace for a weekend of unstable weather, with the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasting dust storms, rough seas, cooler temperatures, and a chance of rain in some areas. The forecast warns of strong northwesterly winds that may reduce visibility due to blowing dust and sand, especially across open areas and highways.
The NCM has issued alerts for rough conditions at sea, with waves in the Arabian Gulf expected to reach hazardous levels. Fishermen and beachgoers are advised to avoid marine activities until conditions improve. Inland, the eastern and northern regions of the country, including parts of Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, may experience light rainfall.
Temperatures are also expected to dip slightly, offering a brief respite from the recent summer heat. Daytime highs may drop by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius across most emirates, particularly in coastal and mountainous regions.
Authorities are urging the public to stay updated through official channels and avoid unnecessary travel during peak dust storm hours. Motorists are advised to drive cautiously due to poor visibility, and people with respiratory conditions should limit outdoor exposure during high dust concentrations.
