An Israeli employer was stabbed in a suspected robbery, and a Keralite carer was discovered dead

In Israel, a startling double tragedy has occurred. Hours after the Israeli woman was found dead from a knife wound, a 38-year-old Keralite carer was discovered hanging inside her employer’s house. Although no judgements have been reached yet, authorities are looking into the case as a potential murder-suicide or botched robbery.

The old woman was being cared for by an Indian carer in a suburban Tel Aviv neighbourhood; the caregiver’s identity has been kept confidential until formal confirmation. According to locals, the carer and employer had coexisted together for many years. The woman’s body was found with multiple stab wounds, and soon after, police discovered the caregiver hanging in an adjacent room.

Robbery may be the motive, according to preliminary reports from Israeli police’s extensive investigation; however, since there was no forced entrance, detectives are looking into alternative possibilities. To put together what happened before the catastrophe, forensic investigators are also examining digital evidence and interviewing family members and neighbours.

The Indian Embassy in Israel has promised support to the caregiver’s family and is keeping a careful eye on the situation. In Israel, where many carers from Kerala work, the tragedy has rocked the Indian expatriate community. As the enquiry continues, authorities have asked the public to refrain from conjecture.
