Armenia Opens Doors: GCC Citizens, Residents Enjoy Visa-Free Entry from July

Armenia has officially implemented a visa-free entry policy for citizens and residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. The bold diplomatic move aims to boost tourism, business travel, and bilateral ties with the Gulf region.

Under the new policy, eligible travelers can enter Armenia without prior visa arrangements, making spontaneous getaways and business trips more convenient. The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that both citizens and valid residency permit holders of GCC nations are included in the initiative.

Tourism authorities in Armenia expect a surge in visitors from the Gulf, especially during the summer months when many regional travelers seek cooler destinations. Yerevan, the capital, and scenic spots like Lake Sevan and Dilijan are being promoted as ideal escapes for GCC tourists.

This visa exemption aligns with Armenia’s broader strategy to position itself as a welcoming, accessible hub for travelers worldwide. With direct flights already connecting GCC cities to Yerevan, the move is expected to further deepen cultural exchange and economic cooperation.
