The UAE Government announced a new federal decree law on traffic regulations on Friday.

According to an advisory from the UAE Government Media Office, individuals as young as 17 are now permitted to obtain a driving license. Previously, the minimum age to drive cars and light vehicles was set at 18.

Additionally, the new regulations will ban the use of vehicles that generate excessive noise and restrict the use of alarm devices within cities, allowing them only in situations to prevent danger or accidents.
