According to a recent Forbes list, India now has 12 foreign-born billionaires in the United States, surpassing Taiwan and Israel. These people have made their mark in industries ranging from software and cybersecurity to finance and aviation. With a nett worth of around \$17.9 billion, Zscaler founder and CEO Jay Chaudhry is at the top of the list. He is the only Indian-born individual in the top 10 richest immigrant billionaires in the United States.

Other Indian-Americans who earned places include high-profile names such as Vinod Khosla ($9.2 billion, Khosla Ventures), Rakesh Gangwal ($6.6 billion, IndiGo Airlines), Romesh Wadhwani ($5 billion, SymphonyAI), Rajiv Jain ($4.8 billion, finance), Kavitark Ram Shriram ($3 billion, venture capital), Raj Sardana ($2 billion), David Paul ($1.5 billion, medical devices), Nikesh Arora ($1.4 billion, Palo Alto Networks), and tech leaders Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella (each at $1.1 billion), along with Neerja Sethi ($1 billion).

With nett worths ranging from $1 billion to $2 billion, Raj Sardana, David Paul, Nikesh Arora, Sundar Picai, Satya Nadella, and Neerja Sethi are all in the tech, cybersecurity, or consulting industries. Up from 92 in 2022, 125 foreign-born U.S. billionaires now own a combined wealth of almost $1.3 trillion, or nearly 18 percent of all U.S. billionaire wealth. Importantly, about 93 percent of these immigrant billionaires are self-made, with technology (53 individuals) and finance (28) being the dominant industries.
