Rainfall Hits Ras Al Khaimah as UAE Braces for More Showers

Parts of Ras Al Khaimah experienced refreshing rainfall on Monday, offering brief relief from the summer heat, as the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts more convective cloud activity in the coming days. The downpour, which ranged from light to moderate in various areas, is part of a broader weather pattern expected to affect several regions across the Emirates until Saturday, July 19.

Convective clouds, which are frequently linked to rainfall, lightning, and strong winds, are building over eastern and some southern regions, according to the NCM. People are urged to exercise caution, particularly in regions that are vulnerable to flash flooding or have poor vision because of rain and dust. The weather bureau continues to monitor the systems and issue real-time updates through its platforms.

Videos and images shared online captured the rare July showers, with residents welcoming the change in weather. Authorities have urged drivers to slow down during rainy spells and follow safety instructions issued by local emergency services, especially in mountainous areas and valleys where rain runoff can pose dangers.

There is still a good chance of more showers because the UAE is still using cloud-seeding techniques to increase rainfall. Although people are excited about the welcome change in weather, the Met Office stresses that it is crucial to remain vigilant and informed because the unstable conditions are predicted to persist throughout the week.
