A Filipina tourist who accidentally dropped her gold chain into the waters of Hatta Dam had a stroke of luck when Dubai Police’s specialised diving team successfully retrieved the valuable item.

The tourist reportedly lost the chain while enjoying a recreational activity near the dam, one of the UAE’s most scenic destinations. Upon realising the chain had fallen into the water, she alerted authorities, and within a short time, Dubai Police dispatched their elite underwater search and rescue team.

Swift Response and Skilled Recovery
The diving unit, trained for both emergency rescues and underwater recoveries, conducted a precise search operation in the area where the chain was believed to have sunk. Thanks to their high-tech equipment and underwater navigation expertise, the divers were able to locate and return the gold chain safely to the grateful tourist.

Beyond Just Combating Crime
This incident demonstrates the variety of functions that Dubai Police perform outside of law enforcement. From conducting life-saving missions during accidents and water emergencies to retrieving personal valuables lost in challenging terrains, these specialised units operate year-round to ensure both resident and tourist safety.

Public Appreciation
The tourist expressed her deep appreciation to the officers involved, praising their professionalism and efficiency. Social media users have also applauded the team’s efforts, calling it a testament to Dubai’s commitment to public service and tourism-friendly safety protocols.
