When an IndiGo pilot spots a problem, quick thinking prevents a crisis
The pilot of an IndiGo flight discovered a mechanical issue in midair, forcing the plane to return to its original airport. Before completing a safe U-turn and returning, the plane, which had already taken off and was on its way to its destination, was seen circling the airspace for almost forty minutes.
The flight safety protocol was promptly activated
According to airline sources, the pilot chose to keep the aircraft airborne temporarily to assess the issue while maintaining communication with air traffic control. Once it was confirmed that continuing the journey posed a risk, the decision to return was swiftly executed to ensure the safety.
No injuries, all passengers are safe
Fortunately, there were no injuries or panics on board when the episode ended. Upon landing, passengers were safely disembarked and then transferred to a different flight. To find out what caused the hitch, the airline has started an internal probe.
Reiterating Commitment to Passenger Safety IndiGo told passengers that, despite the inconvenience, these precautions are required to guarantee aviation safety and underlined their strict commitment to safety procedures. The event serves as a reminder of how crucial pilot awareness and quick thinking are to preventing possible accidents.
