The UAE is facing heavy fog on major highways and residential areas. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a red alert. Motorists are advised to follow good driving rules. It can help in avoiding accidents across multiple cities of the emirates.

Areas Affected by the Heavy Fog Across the UAE

Dense Fog in Abu Dhabi, Dubai & Sharjah

Early-morning drivers reported thick fog in:

  • Abu Dhabi: Zayed International Airport, Al Ajban, Seih Shuaib.

  • Dubai: Al Qudra, Al Lisaili, Al Aweer.

  • Sharjah: Al Qarayen, Sharjah International Airport.

  • Al Ain: Sweihan, surrounding desert routes.

The fog was especially heavy between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. It is leading to delays and reduced speed limits on important highways.

The UAE commonly experiences fog during the autumn–winter season. The reasons are:

  • High humidity

  • Rapid temperature drop before sunrise
