Introduction

Vedanta Resources reported one of its strongest financial periods in recent years as the company achieved its second-highest revenue and EBITDA in the first half of FY26. The company credited this performance to strong commodity prices and stable production across its key business units. Vedanta said the favourable market environment helped it strengthen its financial position and improve investor confidence at a crucial time for the mining and metals sector. The results highlight the company’s ability to manage volatility while delivering consistent growth across its portfolio.

The company explained that higher prices in zinc, aluminium and copper played a major role in lifting its overall earnings. It also reported steady output from its mines and smelters, ensuring a strong supply pipeline during the first half of the fiscal year. Vedanta said demand from global construction, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors remained high, which supported the positive price trend for its major commodities. The company believes these conditions will continue to influence its revenue and EBITDA in the coming months.

Vedanta’s EBITDA also reached its second-best level in history, showing the strength of its operating model during a period of rising global competition. The company said efficient cost control and process upgrades helped maintain profitability even as energy costs and logistics challenges affected the wider market. Vedanta emphasised that stable production efficiency across its operations helped secure strong returns and ensured resilience during fluctuating commodity cycles.

Company remains focused

Vedanta Resources reiterated its commitment to long-term value creation through strategic investments and improved asset performance. The company stated that ongoing expansions in zinc, aluminium and power will support future earnings. Vedanta added that it continues to strengthen its financial discipline and reduce debt to maintain long-term stability. The strong results from H1FY26 reflect the company’s progress toward a more diversified and sustainable growth path.
