What is a Police Clearance Certificate?

A Police Clearance Certificate is an official document. It verifies an individual’s good conduct and the absence of a criminal record while living in Saudi Arabia. Many international employers and immigration authorities request this document to evaluate the applicant’s background. It is specially used for visa applications, permanent residency, and job opportunities.

Requirements for the PCC Application

Before you start, ensure you have the following:

  1. Active Absher Account: The application process takes place through Absher. So you need to have a registered account.
  2. National ID or Iqama: Make sure your identification documents are current and valid.
  3. Biometric Data: In some instances, previously recorded biometric data like fingerprints may be required for identity verification.

Step-by-Step Guide to Applying Online

Here’s how to conveniently obtain your PCC through Absher:

  1. Log in to Absher: Go to absher.sa and log in to your Absher account. If you don’t have an account, you can create one by following the registration instructions on the site.
  2. Navigate to ‘E-Services’: After logging in, click on the ‘E-Services’ tab. Then select ‘Criminal Records Report’ or ‘Police Clearance Certificate’ from the list of available services.
  3. Fill Out the Application Form: Enter details such as your name, Iqama number, nationality, and other required personal information. Make sure everything is accurate, as incorrect data may delay the process.
