The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) collaborated with the World Health Organisation (WHO). The Emirates Autism Society has launched the “Autism Ambassador” program. This innovative initiative aims to train and support families and caregivers of individuals with autism. The program will equip them with vital skills and resources to enhance their health.

The Autism Ambassador program is a key element of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). It was signed at MoHAP’s headquarters in Dubai. The memorandum was signed by Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand and Majid Sultan Al Muhairi. Both of them are Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector at MoHAP and Chairman of the Board of Emirates Autism Society. This partnership is centered on five initiatives. These initiatives are designed to empower individuals with autism. It will strengthen the UAE’s commitment to supporting People of Determination (PoD).

Comprehensive Support through Five Key Initiatives

Alongside the Autism Ambassador program, MoHAP has introduced four additional major initiatives. They are a part of the MoU. Each one of them will meet the unique needs of individuals with autism and their families:

  1. Quality of Healthy Life Initiative for People with Autism: It is a health-oriented program that provides regular check-ups. It offers thorough evaluations to ensure the physical and mental well-being of autistic individuals.
  2. Community Support Initiative for People with Autism: This initiative offers essential resources to create a more inclusive society.
  3. Digital Platform for Access Improvement: A new online platform will facilitate easier access to services. It will offer benefits and information for individuals with autism.
