Sara Chemmaa’s journey into entrepreneurship began unexpectedly. She was motivated by her desire to create practical, fun, and mess-free meal options for her young son, Ali. As a picky toddler, Ali often returned home with an untouched lunchbox due to issues with food mixing and leaking.

Frustrated by the lack of suitable lunchboxes, Chemmaa started searching for solutions online. Her idea for a leak-proof, compartmentalized lunchbox quickly exceeded her initial expectations. This search led to the creation of Citron. It was her brand committed to making mealtimes more enjoyable for children, particularly those who are selective eaters.

By 2018, after a year of research and product testing, Chemmaa launched her first lunchbox design. She found a significant demand from other parents facing similar challenges, which fueled Citron’s rapid growth. To make mealtimes more appealing, Chemmaa introduced a variety of colorful, practical products.

The lunchboxes also include insulated water bottles, snack boxes, lunch bags, and fun food cutters. Her goal was to address functional issues and also to make food visually engaging for children. What started as a simple need transformed into a thriving business.

Today, Citron has expanded into a well-known brand across 48 countries. It is available at over 1,000 retailers globally. Chemmaa’s innovative and functional designs have struck a chord with parents looking for reliable and visually appealing meal solutions for their kids.

The product line has continued to grow, addressing various aspects of family dining. Despite her success, Chemmaa remains dedicated to her mission of turning ordinary meals into enjoyable experiences.
