Sheikh Mohammed Attends Artificial Intelligence ‘AI’ Retreat

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, participated in the ‘Artificial Intelligence Retreat’ on the first day of the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2024 in Abu Dhabi.

During the retreat, His Highness emphasized, “The UAE has established itself as a leader among the world’s most forward-thinking nations, taking a prominent role in advancing Artificial Intelligence that will impact all sectors. We are dedicated to not just maintaining but also strengthening this leadership by enhancing our capabilities.

This involves improving our infrastructure, preparing data, and developing laws, as well as focusing on training our national workforce, which is essential for our country’s future.”

“Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that the UAE’s vision and planning have resulted in significant achievements in this rapidly changing field. We are among the best-prepared nations to take advantage of opportunities in the AI sector, using these innovations to improve quality of life, boost economic growth, and support overall development.

With our resources and a competitive talent pool, we are eager to lead future trends and be pioneers in this area,” he added.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the national organizations that have supported the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy. He commended the retreat for uniting various groups to share ideas and align strategies, aiming to increase their impact and successes in this important field.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence; His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance; and Lieutenant General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, were present at the retreat.

Also in attendance were Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications. Chaired by Sheikh Mohammed, the meetings brought together over 500 officials from federal and local government agencies, the private sector, and community organizations.
