Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is very excited to be part of the film Thama, produced by Maddock Films. In this movie, he will star alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Expressing his enthusiasm for joining the horror comedy universe, Khurrana said in a press release, “I’m thrilled that Dinesh Vijan believes this is the perfect time for me to step into his blockbuster horror comedy world with Thama.
After Stree 2 became the highest-grossing Bollywood film ever, I’m eager to continue the legacy of this universe and aim to provide audiences with a memorable theatrical experience.”
He continued, “Dinesh and I share a passion for breaking boundaries. Our film, Bala, had audiences on their feet and praised it for its fresh approach. Thama is our second collaboration, and it’s so unique that I can’t wait to see how people react when they watch it in theaters next Diwali.
We are both focused on completely redefining expectations and giving viewers something truly new. Thama is that project—a total surprise that audiences have never experienced in India. I’m excited to start filming this and create an amazing big-screen experience with Dinesh, director Aditya Sarpotdar, and talented writers like Niren Bhatt.”
Khurrana called Thama a “project of a lifetime.”
“The fact that Thama is the first love story in the horror comedy universe makes it even more thrilling! The idea of it being a ‘bloody’ love story is a unique and engaging concept for today’s audiences who crave innovative cinematic experiences. I’ve always sought out such distinctive projects throughout my career, and I’m grateful that incredible directors and filmmakers want me to lead these films. Thama is truly a once-in-a-lifetime project for me, and I will pour my heart and soul into it, hoping for overwhelming love from the audience,” he shared.
The film will be directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known for Munjya. Dinesh Vijan is producing Thama with Amar Kaushik, while the screenplay is by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara.
In addition to Thama, Khurrana will also appear alongside Sara Ali Khan in an upcoming film that is yet to be titled. Meanwhile, Mandanna is set to star with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the film Sikandar.
