H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and Chairman of the Dubai Judicial Council, chaired a recent meeting to review the judiciary’s latest plans and initiatives.

During the meeting, Sheikh Maktoum approved the Judges’ Career Paths project, a strategic initiative aimed at boosting judicial competencies, improving efficiency, and enhancing the rule of law. The project will develop qualified judges with specialized skills to strengthen the judicial system.

Additionally, Sheikh Maktoum approved the creation of a team to explore a unified technical platform for Dubai’s judicial bodies and their supporting entities. He also launched the Judicial Inspection Authority’s digital platform, offering interactive services for the judiciary, allowing members to track performance and case resolution speeds.

In line with these efforts, 36 Emirati judicial trainees were approved for the Dubai Judicial Institute’s Judicial and Legal Studies program. This program will prepare them for future roles as judges in Dubai’s courts.

Sheikh Maktoum emphasized the importance of strengthening Emirati expertise within the judiciary. He said, “The Judges Career Paths project reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aimed at advancing our judiciary and developing judges who contribute to a world-class legal system.”

He also praised the Dubai Judicial Council for enhancing Dubai’s judicial system and ensuring access to justice. “We are committed to providing the resources necessary to maximize judicial efficiency, creating a legal environment of prompt, accurate, and accessible justice,” Sheikh Maktoum added.

The meeting also covered key projects for judicial entities. The Judges’ Career Paths project aims to keep pace with legal and social changes, aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and Dubai Social Agenda 33. The project focuses on specialization and precision in judicial performance to strengthen the rule of law and improve judicial efficiency.

The Judges’ Career Paths project includes three tracks: Specialized, Elite, and Leadership. The Specialized Track allows judges to specialize in specific legal areas. The Elite Track is for judges who demonstrate exceptional skills and competency, and the Leadership Track focuses on preparing judges for leadership roles.

Supervised by the Judicial Coordination Affairs Council, the project ensures that Dubai’s strategic goals are met while adhering to international standards of quality judicial performance. It is a significant step toward a strong judicial future, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to fairness and justice.

Sheikh Maktoum also launched the digital platform for the Judicial Inspection Authority, which provides judiciary members with interactive services to monitor their performance and case resolution timelines.

The meeting concluded with the endorsement of judicial promotions and the approval of regulations regarding seniority and promotions for members of the Dubai Judicial Council.
