His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Health Board, attended the meeting along with other board members, including Her Excellency Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg and CEO Dr. Amer Sharif.

Creating A World-Class Healthcare System

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed reaffirmed Dubai Health’s dedication to making Dubai a global leader in healthcare, research, and medical education. “Patient-First” remains the guiding principle, with Dubai Health working towards better care for all. Sheikh Mansoor echoed this, stating Dubai Health’s commitment to the leadership’s vision of making Dubai a global healthcare model, with ongoing investments strengthening the healthcare ecosystem and building public trust.

The board reviewed Dubai Health’s achievements from its first term, along with future strategic plans, including the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital project.

Diabetes Centre Expansion

The new Diabetes Centre, opening in 2026, will be more than twice the size of the current facility and will bring a broader range of services. Dubai Health’s Diabetes Centre has served over 15,000 patients since 2009, and the new centre will allow for double the patient capacity over the next decade. The facility, easily accessible from across Dubai, will integrate research and the latest global standards to deliver top-quality care.

Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, member of Dubai Health’s Board and Chair of the new Diabetes Centre’s Steering Committee, shared, “With a focus on innovation and the latest technologies, the new facility will enhance our ecosystem and bring specialised care to diabetes patients.”

Supporting Patient Needs

Dr. Mohamed Farooqi, Director of the Diabetes Centre, highlighted the centre’s role in supporting diabetes patients, saying, “Our new centre builds on years of experience to offer specialised treatment and prevention. The addition of specialties like cardiology, nephrology, and ophthalmology will allow us to provide advanced care.”

The centre will also use AI-powered tools for a seamless patient experience, integrating modern technologies in examination rooms to ensure efficient care. The expanded facility represents Dubai Health’s commitment to patient-centered care and long-term health improvement.
