A CIA officer has been charged with leaking classified intelligence about Israel’s plans for a possible retaliation against Iran, according to The New York Times. The official, Asif Rahman, was arrested by the FBI in Cambodia and is set to appear in federal court in Guam on Thursday.

Rahman, who held a high-level security clearance, was indicted in Virginia on two counts of illegally retaining and sharing national intelligence.

The leaked documents, shared on Telegram by an account called Middle East Spectator, outlined Israel’s preparation for a strike. However, they didn’t specify actual targets.

In recent developments, Iran launched nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel on October 1 in response to the deaths of Tehran-backed figures in Hamas and Hezbollah. Israel later struck back with attacks on military sites in Iran.
