Reducing Distractions and Improving Student Life

Under the new rule, any mobile phones found with students on school grounds will be immediately confiscated. For a first violation, the phone will be held for a month. If a student brings a phone again, it will be kept until the end of the school year. This strict approach aligns with the Ministry’s student behavior code, reinforcing respect for school policies.

Privacy Protection for Students

The Ministry has assured that confiscated phones won’t be checked for personal content, respecting student privacy. However, in rare cases, a special committee may inspect a phone if absolutely necessary. If a phone is used to record others without consent, additional steps will be taken to protect the rights of students and teachers, including involvement from the Child Rights Unit.

Role of Parents and School Cooperation

Parents play a key role in enforcing this policy. Schools are tasked with educating parents about the rules, promoting teamwork between schools and families. This collaboration helps keep students on track, creating a better learning environment.

Ensuring Accountability

To track compliance, schools must document every confiscation using official Ministry forms. Parents are notified and required to sign these forms, ensuring transparency. Additionally, schools will hold sessions on how excessive mobile phone use can impact academic performance.

Through this initiative, the Ministry aims to create a focused, disciplined, and distraction-free learning space. This new policy reflects the Ministry’s commitment to fostering positive behaviors and a strong educational experience for every student. The Ministry encourages schools to fully apply these guidelines, helping all students thrive in a safe and effective environment.
