This state-of-the-art facility uses advanced technologies like facial comparison, simplified arrival systems, and a mobile passport control app (MPC), making passenger processing faster and smoother, said Jamil Musleh, CBP Port Director.

Global Entry Partnership with UAE

The US CBP recently introduced a Global Entry partnership for UAE citizens, allowing pre-approved travelers expedited customs and immigration processing. This initiative enhances the seamless travel experience between the two nations.

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Marks Milestone

On Friday, US and Abu Dhabi officials celebrated the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Martina Strong, US Ambassador to the UAE, described the event as a major milestone in UAE-US ties.

“Travelers to the United States can now enjoy a streamlined process in this beautiful facility,” she said, highlighting the impact on tourism, cultural exchange, and business relations.

Enhanced Connectivity for Travelers

Zayed International Airport’s preclearance facility—the only one in the Middle East and Asia supports Etihad Airways passengers flying to Boston, Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. Etihad operates 35 weekly flights to the US and will open a new premium lounge next month for Business and First-Class travelers.

“This strategic relationship boosts connectivity between the UAE and US, benefiting tourism, trade, and international cooperation,” added Judson Murdock, CBP Deputy Executive Assistant Commissioner.

The preclearance facility reflects Abu Dhabi Airports’ vision to become a leading global aviation hub, marking another achievement in Zayed International Airport’s first year of operation.
