In a significant effort to raise awareness about the dangers of drug addiction, the Sharjah Police Anti-Narcotics Department has opened an impactful exhibition at City Centre Al Zahia. Running until November 21, the exhibition, titled “My Family is My Greatest Wealth,” features a lifelike model of a drug addict’s room, highlighting the harsh realities of substance abuse.

Inside the Exhibit: A Stark Warning
The highlight of the exhibit is the carefully designed model of a drug addict’s room, which includes paraphernalia and visual aids that illustrate the various types of drugs and their harmful effects. The display offers a sobering view of the physical and mental impact of addiction, aiming to resonate with visitors and encourage discussions about prevention.

Through live demonstrations and video presentations, the exhibition reveals how addiction can seep into homes, disrupt families, and destroy lives. This immersive experience is intended to alert parents and guardians to the subtle warning signs of substance abuse, providing them with the knowledge needed to protect their loved ones.

Community Collaboration for a Safer Future
This event, a joint initiative between the Anti-Narcotics and Security Media Departments of Sharjah Police, is part of a larger campaign to tackle drug abuse in the emirate. The campaign aims to cultivate a vigilant community that emphasizes prevention and early intervention by focusing on families, educators, and youth.

A Message of Hope and Resilience
Colonel Majid Al-Asam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, highlighted the vital role of family support in combating drug addiction. “Families are essential in recognizing and addressing the early signs of addiction. This exhibition serves as a reminder that awareness is the first step toward protection,” he remarked.

Empowering Families to Take Action
Alongside the model room, the exhibition features counseling booths, educational materials, and resources to assist families in identifying risks and taking proactive measures.

Join the Movement
As the exhibition continues until November 21, Sharjah Police invites residents to get involved, raise awareness, and contribute to creating a safer, drug-free community. Through initiatives like these, Sharjah is at the forefront of efforts to safeguard its citizens and foster a culture of well-being and vigilance.

This initiative highlights an essential message: the battle against addiction starts with awareness, understanding, and a collective community effort.
