Hamdan bin Mohammed Explores Innovations at Dubai Future Forum 2024

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), attended the Dubai Future Forum 2024 on November 19-20 at the Museum of the Future.

He emphasized Dubai’s global leadership in forecasting trends and creating innovative opportunities, guided by the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The World’s Largest Gathering of Futurists

The Dubai Future Forum 2024 welcomed over 2,500 participants from around 100 countries, including 150+ speakers such as government leaders, CEOs, academics, and futurists. Featuring 70 sessions, the forum explored global strategies and future trends.

Sheikh Hamdan stated, “The Dubai Future Forum is one of the world’s premier gatherings, helping the global community keep up with rapid changes and uncover new opportunities. Its outcomes will guide governments, institutions, and societies in planning for the future.”

He added, “Dubai remains optimistic about what lies ahead. Through this forum, we unite policymakers, researchers, and thought leaders to collaborate on shaping a brighter tomorrow.”

Innovative Solutions on Display

Sheikh Hamdan visited the Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity exhibition, showcasing 100 cutting-edge projects aimed at solving global challenges. Overseen by Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed, this platform allows university students and academics to present groundbreaking solutions.

Key partners include Dubai Future Foundation, Dubai Culture, and the Hussain Sajwani – DAMAC Foundation, which recently pledged AED100 million toward innovation.

Empowering Future Leaders

Sheikh Hamdan met with graduates of two significant programs:

FEEL: A Disruptive Futures Programme, launched by DFF, trained 42 participants in future planning and emerging trends.

The Dubai Future Experts Programme, run by Dubai’s Executive Council and DFF, certified 20 government employees in future foresight. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized their vital role in driving innovation within the government sector.

Day 1 Highlights

The first day featured seven plenary and 15 thematic sessions, covering five major themes:

  • Foresight Insights
  • Transforming Humanity
  • Futuring Nature
  • Empowering Generations
  • Optimising Health

Workshops included:

  • Shaping Health Futures, by WHO and Museum of Discovery.
  • Flipping the Script: Films and AI Futures, by the Future of Life Institute.
  • Future of Life and New Materials, by ARUP.
