Pakistan Court Grants Bail to Ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan

A Pakistani court has granted bail to former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a case concerning the concealment of income from the sale of state gifts.

However, he will not be released from jail due to multiple other charges he faces. The Islamabad High Court, presided over by Judge Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, ordered Khan’s release in this particular case, and his lawyer, Salman Safdar, confirmed that the opposition leader would be freed “soon.”

Khan, who was once a cricket star, has been in prison for over a year and is dealing with more than 100 legal cases, including allegations of corruption, misuse of power, and incitement to violence.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that Khan would remain in custody because of ongoing arrests related to other cases.

This ruling comes amid escalating political unrest, as Khan calls on his supporters to march toward Islamabad on November 24 in protest against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government.
