A person experiencing a critical medical condition aboard a fishing vessel near Abu Dhabi was rescued by the UAE’s National Guard team on Thursday. The boat was located about 10 nautical miles from Zirku Island.

The National Search and Rescue Centre received a report about the medical emergency and quickly initiated a rescue operation.

The vessel was immediately located, and the Coast Guard search and rescue boat, along with a medical team from the Zirku Island Clinic, was dispatched to the scene.

The medical team provided the necessary first-aid onboard before transferring the individual to the island clinic for further treatment.

The UAE authorities highlighted the importance of following maritime safety procedures. They urged sea-goers to contact the maritime emergency line (996) during emergencies to ensure a fast response and save lives.
