A yellow alert was also announced, starting from 1:30 AM to 9:30 AM, indicating a possibility of fog forming over both coastal and internal areas with similar concerns for visibility.

In a recent advisory, Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to remain cautious due to the fog-induced reduced visibility. They emphasized following updated speed limits displayed on electronic road signs to ensure safety on the roads.

Weather Overview for Residents

The day is expected to be generally fair, although partly cloudy conditions may appear occasionally. According to the weather department, temperatures could drop as low as 12ºC in mountainous regions today. Humidity levels are set to rise overnight and extend into Saturday morning, leading to the formation of fog or mist in some internal areas.

  • Abu Dhabi: Humidity levels may climb to 95% in certain areas, especially Al Quaa and Razeen.
  • Winds: Light to moderate winds are expected, occasionally picking up strength.
  • Sea Conditions: Slight to moderate waves, potentially rough in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea will remain slight.

Thunderstorm Alerts in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Press Agency has warned of thunderstorms across most regions of the Kingdom, lasting until next Tuesday.

The Makkah region is particularly affected, with expectations of moderate to heavy rains, torrential floods, hail, and strong downward winds, which may stir up dust and sand.
