Pep Guardiola’s recent two-year contract extension at Manchester City was overshadowed by a disappointing 4-0 defeat to Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium. This loss marked City’s fifth straight defeat across all competitions and was their heaviest home loss since February 2003, when they suffered a 5-1 defeat to Arsenal at Maine Road. The result left Manchester City in turmoil, raising concerns about their current form.

Meanwhile, Liverpool took advantage of City’s struggles with a thrilling 3-2 victory at Southampton, highlighted by a brace from Mohamed Salah. This win extended the Reds’ lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points, giving them a significant early-season edge. The only time a team has had a larger lead after 12 games was Manchester United in 1993-94, when they were nine points ahead and ultimately secured the title.

Bundesliga
Harry Kane made his mark in Bundesliga history, setting a new record as he helped Bayern Munich dominate their latest match. His performance demonstrated why he remains one of the league’s standout players since joining from Tottenham earlier this season.

Serie A
Napoli continued their resurgence under Antonio Conte with a commanding display in Serie A. The team’s revival under the seasoned coach has injected new life into their title aspirations as they seek to challenge the dominance of Juventus and Inter Milan.

La Liga
Real Madrid maintained the pressure on their rivals, Barcelona, with a crucial win that brought them closer to the top of La Liga. Madrid’s consistent performances have them in striking distance of Barcelona, as both teams chase the coveted Spanish league title.
