Netflix has announced a price increase for its plans in the UAE, with some users expected to pay up to Dh10 more each month. The updated rates will come into effect on December 23, as stated in a notification sent to subscribers. The exact hike depends on the plan selected by the user.
Updated Netflix Subscription Prices
- Standard Plan: Users who stream in full-HD on two devices at a time will now pay Dh49 per month, up from the previous rate of Dh39.
- Premium Plan: Subscribers enjoying ultra-HD streaming on four devices will see their rate rise to Dh71 per month, compared to the earlier rate of Dh62.
- Basic Plan: There have been no changes here—the price remains Dh35 per month for streaming HD on a single device.
Want to Switch to a Cheaper Plan?
If you’re looking to save money by switching to a lower-priced plan, here’s how you can make the change:
- Log in to your Netflix account on netflix.com.
- Navigate to the ‘Change Plan’ option (marked with a star icon) on your account overview page.
- Select your preferred plan and confirm the change.
Once you’ve switched, your new, lower rate will apply to the next billing cycle. However, you’ll still enjoy the features of your current plan until the end of your billing period.
For Those Upgrading Plans
If you’re upgrading to a higher-tier plan, the new price will be calculated based on the remaining balance of your current payment, along with pro-rata charges for the upgraded plan. The added features will be available immediately upon upgrading.
