His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, visited Dubai International Airport to check out Emirates’ newest aircraft addition, the Airbus A350.

He was joined by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Airline and Group; and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed inspected the A350, exploring its modern design, advanced technologies, and updated onboard features. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed provided a briefing on Emirates’ plans for the A350 network and how this aircraft will support the airline’s fleet expansion and global route development.

Discussions also covered upcoming investments in products aimed at improving the customer experience. These investments highlight Dubai’s and Emirates’ leadership in enhancing the travel journey. Sheikh Mohammed also reviewed the eco-friendly features of the Airbus A350, including its innovative structure, which lowers fuel consumption and reduces its carbon footprint.

The A350’s airframe is made up of 70% advanced materials, including 53% composites, which are lighter and stronger than previous materials.

The Emirates A350 is equipped with three cabin classes, offering seats for 312 passengers. This includes 32 next-generation Business Class lie-flat seats, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 259 Economy Class seats with extra legroom.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the remarkable achievements of Emirates Airline under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. He acknowledged the efforts of the team behind the airline’s continued success, which has earned it a leading position in passenger comfort, service quality, and safety.

His Highness highlighted the UAE’s dedication to maintaining a strong global presence in aviation. He recognized Emirates’ advancements in redefining passenger travel and commended the airline’s expanding fleet as a symbol of its ability to lead the aviation industry. Sheikh Mohammed also noted the importance of aviation in connecting communities worldwide, driving growth and prosperity.

The Emirates Group remains a key contributor to Dubai’s economy, generating AED75 billion in value, or 15% of Dubai’s GDP, and supporting 114,000 jobs.

Aviation plays a vital role in Dubai’s strategy to become a global hub for tourism, trade, and investment. Emirates’ growth aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to expand Dubai’s economic reach to over 400 cities. By leveraging aircraft like the A350, Emirates will open doors to new markets, supporting the government’s vision of positioning Dubai as a leader in global business and investment while setting new standards for the global economy.
