Yellow Alert Issued: Rough Seas and Partly Cloudy Skies in UAE

A yellow weather alert has been issued by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) for Saturday, November 30. The warning highlights rough seas and northwesterly winds reaching speeds of up to 40kmph.

The NCM advises that the Oman Sea will have waves up to 6 feet offshore until 11am on Sunday, December 1. Similarly, on Thursday, the department noted that the Arabian Gulf will experience waves as high as 10 feet, lasting until 7am on Sunday, December 1.

The weather department’s orange alert signifies the need to stay cautious and follow official guidelines.

What to Expect Today in the UAE

Residents can look forward to partly cloudy skies today, with occasional dusty conditions caused by moderate to strong winds, especially over the sea.

Temperature Range:

    • Lowest: 15ºC in mountainous areas.
    • Highest: 30ºC in internal regions.

Notable Drop in Temperature:

On Friday, Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah recorded 9.7ºC at 6:15am, marking one of the lowest temperatures recently.

Sea Conditions:

    • Arabian Gulf: Rough to very rough.
    • Oman Sea: Moderate to rough at times.
