Actor Vikrant Massey, known for his stellar performances in films like 12th Fail, The Sabarmati Report, and Sector 36, has left his fans and the film world stunned with his latest announcement. The 37-year-old actor revealed that he plans to retire from acting after 2025.

On Monday morning, Vikrant shared an emotional note on Instagram, where he expressed his gratitude and explained his decision.

“The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a husband, father, and son—and also as an actor,” Vikrant wrote, leaving fans both shocked and curious about his choice.

This decision comes at a high point in his career. Vikrant’s latest film, The Sabarmati Report, has been widely praised since its release. Speaking at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) during its closing ceremony, Vikrant shared his thoughts on cinema and his journey as an actor.

“I always try to work responsibly. Whether it is 12th Fail, Sector 36, or The Sabarmati Report, my goal has always been to entertain while being part of responsible cinema,” he said.

He further elaborated on the power of films to inspire and influence. “Cinema is such an influential medium. Many people find inspiration through it. In India, we produce around 1,800 to 2,000 films every year in different genres. While all types of films are important, responsible cinema is thriving, and audiences are showing their appreciation,” Vikrant added.

Vikrant’s journey began in television with the show Dhoom Machao Dhoom. He gained popularity with his role in Balika Vadhu in 2009. He later made his mark in Bollywood with Lootera and then starred in his first lead role in A Death in the Gunj (2017). Over the years, he has earned praise for his performances in projects like Broken But Beautiful, Ginny Weds Sunny, Haseen Dilruba, Love Hostel, and 12th Fail.

While Vikrant Massey’s retirement marks the end of an era for his fans, they can still look forward to his final projects, set to release in 2025.
